Description:

Cisco is hiring a Software Test and Automation Engineer focused on wireless technologies and network operating systems in Bangalore. This entry-level role is part of Cisco’s mission to connect and protect organizations in the AI era and beyond. The engineer will contribute to software quality through automation, testing, and tooling across the full software development lifecycle.

Role Purpose:

You will develop automated tests, collaborate across teams, define and implement test methodologies, and ensure robust wireless solutions. The role requires learning Cisco products, wireless tech, software frameworks, and tools with exposure to emerging fields like AI/ML.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in full software development lifecycle concentrating on testing and automation.
• Develop and run tests on wireless solutions including controllers and access points.
• Collaborate with software, networking, and QA teams.
• Learn and apply test methodologies, software frameworks, and automation tools.
• Contribute to improvement of connectivity experience in critical applications.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies—including AI and wireless communications.

Key Technical Skills:

C, C++, Python, Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP), Software development and testing frameworks, Automation, AI/ML basics, Wireless technologies (802.11, BLE, Zigbee), Coding and debugging, Software quality assurance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Demonstrable up to 2 years relevant experience including internships, projects, or apprenticeships.
• Passion for software development, networking, and quality.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a fast-evolving technical environment.
• Bonus: Knowledge of AI/ML, wireless networking protocols, additional programming languages (Java, Kotlin, JavaScript), CCNA or equivalent certifications, and hands-on coding/debugging/testing experience.
